I am just exploring the world of commodity now. I checked all the products that are being traded on MCX from its site, and checked the bhav copies too. But it only gives you historical data for past few (3/4) months based on the future contract selection. How can i obtain the data for past few years ??

And my next question as a newbie, which contract will be best to trade on ?? So that i can start developing my system based on that contract only.

Dear Taiki, I am a newbie trying to learn trading. I do not trade commodities. Hopefully I will learn from your posts. And I am no sir in any dept.

Well, first of all thank you for thinking of replying to my queries.. in my very 1st question in this thread i had mentioned that when i started searching about commodity only results i got was about sites giving tips, If i had to follow them then i would not have come here with my question and intentions to learn. About charting and trading stuffs whatever knowledge i have now i have gained that through TraderJi, browsing and with my own effort. My questions were not about trading, but about the commodity data on lot size, minimum capital required for buying a lot of copper mini etc..

And in case if here guys think that answering newbie's question is a waste of time, then in that case i will find my own way. THANK YOU.

First of all I want to say that Eagleone's replies were to the point, IMO we have directed you to the mcx website in previous posts that was enough, even a google query of "mcx copper mini lot size" would have given you exact answer on its first link itself. You said that you've tried to google but couldn't find then I must say you have to improve your data mining skill as well as patience, believe me you'll require it even more when you are actually trading. I don't think anybody have any attitude problem, people answer as per their free time and please understand too many questions in a thread which is about "calls" disrupts the pace of the thread, just think what's the thread all about and too many irrelevant questions and answers spoils the flow of original thread. Thoda thread owner ka bhi dhyan rako yaro he's doing a good job. thread se unrelated cheeze thread owner k saath saath aur bhi logo ko inconvenience deti hai, I hope you'll understand all this in good spirit.

Waise ek cheej disclouse kruga toh sab hasoge mujpe haha mjhe sir, studend jaise words use mat karo, yaha sab mujhse 5-10 saal bade hoge aaram se =)
