Since all I can see are futile frivolous discussions, I shall refrain from posting on the forum, and go back to just silently reading posts as was the case from years
Not all are just futile frivolous discussions/postings. May here in this thread many are, but there are many serious discussions going on in other threads. So why not stay in those places?

This is because many still do not believe that consistent month after month money can be made by trading because all of us are in internet world. When I started trading, there were few successful traders which were trading along with us,we knew their trades, the payouts they get from the broker, how they add to their winning positions and cut losses , how they became super successful and how some of them failed due to over leveraging etc ....so even when I was a struggling trader,I knew a few successful traders and my only thinking was what they do right and how do I learn these things to be consistently profitable myself.....and that is how serious discussions with them ,learning starts though in my learning days also no successful trader ever showed me his ledger or trade logs ..neither I asked anyone to show me his profits because it was my need to learn from them and they had no such need to educate me...in fact some of them were not so open to share anything initially.....but as we knew each other more, they opened up......

In virtual world we don’t see anything so such virtual forums are not very conducive to serious thoughts sharing and learning about trading......

But you can give it a try ...start sharing your thoughts ,ideas for a few days and see how it progresses.....

My views only.....

There will always be 1-2 people criticising or questioning but that doesn’t mean you need to stop sharing tour thoughts with thousands others!

I read many old thread where people constantly bickering about new trade setups being described by subhadip and even ST da. That didn’t stopped them from putting forward their points.

No use, Bro, its just a question of lack of meaningful discussions, not related to the fact if I am profitable or not. This part of my life is reflected in the way I spend my life with my family. Nothing meaningful is being discussed. Not a single mention of MAE, MFE, Drawadowns, Streaks of Wins and Losses, Money Management Methods, Trading Psychology.
I fear that if I engage in such frivolous talk, I will regress from my path. Hence the decision bhai.
I came looking for a meaningful discussion, where I can provide some inputs, and expected some inputs from others in return.

@sumosanammain There may be many people like me who do not add any value to the forum except make threads longer with "frivolous" chit chat. At best you should ignore it and continue on your path of "meaningful discussions" on topics you have mentioned. I am sure you will find very serious people here who will engage with you in such conversations. Many like me who cannot contribute may read silently and may still benefit.

Your 20 years of trading can bring serious contribution to this forum! It is up to you to make a meaningful discussion. Why leave it to others?

Just my 2 cents on a sunday afternoon!:bookworm:

Bhai, why are you taking it personally?
Tell me, who in these last few days has engaged meaningfully with me on the subjects I have discussed above?
It has nothing to do with you. I am just not getting the kind of engagement that I was looking for. After trading for 27 years from 1992 onwards, frivolous chit chat becomes distracting, and you need to engage in talk that helps you improve. I am a system trader, and wanted to engage with like minded people. Did not find any such persons to engage with. Thats all.
Not a single post has someone sharing how he has 1000 or 2000 trades backtested for intraday trading.
I used to go to the BSE and talk to the people who used to come out of the ring wearing their uniforms of Blue Jobbing Jackets. They used to be wiping their sweat, and I used to hang around hearing what they used to discuss with each other. I like picking up things from mistakes people make, rather than commit them in my own account.

Weekends are THE time to be serious. Weekdays you are just trading the system that you have fine tuned. At lest for me, I yearn for friday afternoon, to go back to my drawing board. this is the time I am at my most serious, when I go deep into my system, trying to create other systems, and analysing the data collected over the years. Any trader that goes into party mode from friday is not a true blooded trader. No doubt, I am a hardcore party animal, and every Nightclub in Pune that is famous, have their bouncers escorting me and my partner inside, without standing in any queue. Thats a high in itself too, as you see people around you wonder, who the hell is this couple who is getting VIP treatment. Other than Saturday night, I am into system development. These saturday nights are absolutely alcohol free as it interferes with my work the next day. So, to answer your question, Weekends are the time to be serious.

Sumo bhai, may be it's our turn to listen to you same way you use to listen outside BSE. If you are kind enough to post your thoughts every Saturday, I'm sure you will find lots of audience here. May be there are very few senior traders left here, or may be they are silent but will come out once you start discussion.

just two cents.
