Jesse Livermore is perhaps the most famous stock trader of all-time.
Back in the early part of the 20th century, Livermore made and lost millions shorting the market.

Following are some rules of Jesse Livermore which every trader needs to keep in mind:

Money cannot consistently be made trading every day or every week during the year.

Don't trust your own opinion and back your judgment until the action of the market itself confirms your opinion.

Markets are never wrong - opinions often are.

As long as a stock is acting right, and the market is right, do not be in a hurry to take profits.

Never buy a stock because it has had a big decline from its previous high.

Never sell a stock because it seems high-priced.

I become a buyer as soon as a stock makes a new high on its movement after having had a normal reaction.

Never average losses.

Big movements take time to develop.

It is not good to be too curious about all the reasons behind price movements.

It is much easier to watch a few than many.

Do not become completely bearish or bullish on the whole market because one stock in some particcular group has plainly reversed its course from the general trend.

When you want something, the whole universe conspires to help you (The Alchemist).
But the universe does not select positive or negative thoughts, so be careful!

Inner Changes Bring Outer Changes
http://www.wisdomquotesandstories.com/inner-changes-bring-outer/

The quality of your life depends to a large extent on the quality of your inner emotional and mental life. If you are lazy, worry too much and afraid to try new things, you stick to the same spot. If you are not afraid to change your thinking, your life will soon change accordingly. Your habitual thoughts, and the content of your subconscious mind determine your behavior and the way you act in the world.

When you change the way you feel and think, you ultimately change your inner vision, actions and behavior. This causes your outer life to change accordingly.

Let’s now see a few examples!
If you are the worrying type, you are probably afraid of changes, and prefer to stick to the same kind of life you well know. You see other people who attain success, and though you wish you were successful too, you do nothing about it. In your mind you see yourself living exactly as you are living now, and find it hard to imagine different circumstances. It may never occur to you that you can visualize a different reality.

In this case your way of thinking limits you. You constantly see in your mind’s eye the same daily reality, and consequently your conscious and subconscious minds stay programmed to experience and attract the same kind of reality.

Suppose you come to understand and realize that your outer reality is shaped to a great extent by your inner world. This realization will cause you to aspire to a better life. You will start to envision the kind of life you want to live. If you keep thinking and visualizing a different and better kind of life, soon these thoughts will sink into your subconscious mind and motivate, inspire and energize you to take action.

The new thoughts will cause new expectations, and change the way you view the outer world. The inner changes in you will gradually affect your outer life. Your behavior, and the way you act will change. You will have more energy, ambition and inner strength. You will get over your fear of change, and be ready to take action to change and improve your life, in accordance with the changes inside you.

Do not write yourself off! Your life is still waiting to unfold. Dig deep within yourself and put your heart in the game. Refuse to throw in the towel on yourself. Make up your mind that surrendering is not an option! You can still pull this off.

Become resourceful and get some advice. Tap into your persistence, perseverance and power! Make it happen! You have something special. You have GREATNESS within you!

Stay connected with people who inspire, nourish and bring out the best in you. It takes time to pull yourself together and to heal if you have been hurt, humiliated, or become emotionally broken because of what you have gone through. You can become disconnected with the real you and forget who you really are. It is necessary to read, listen and focus on positive things. Things that strengthen your mind, develop your confidence and fortify your spirit. Create a strategy that will allow you to rid your life of people whose only intention is to strip, destroy, or take you down.

Be aware that there are certain situations that are just not good for you. Make a conscious, deliberate effort to focus your mind exclusively on things that will build you up, give you hope and expand the possibilities in all dimensions of your life. You have the capacity and the ability to rebuild your life. What you have gone through can be used to develop another part of yourself. Stay connected with positive people with the knowledge that you will get through this. You have something special. You have GREATNESS within you!
