Re: new cheapest broker is here. Zerodha

I have received the account opening forms from Zerodha by email and I'm planning to open both trading account as well as demat account with ILFS.

I have received an attachment with email (FormFillingInstructions.pdf) and that has an instruction that I don't have to fill the form.

**PLEASE DO NOT FILL THE FORM as it has to be filled in a specific way, if there is any is any
mistake while filling up, forms will not be processed
***Please do not put in dates while filling in the forms.
Are we required to sign on the unfilled form and send it across with self-attested copies of supporting documents like bank statement, copy of passport etc?

I want to know how have other customers who have already opened the accounts with Zerodha done? Have you guys also sent unfilled form with your signatures only on it. If yes, then you received scanned copy of the form after it has been filled by Zerodha staff?

hi startrade
yes we need to send only the signed forms. just make sure u enter ur name email and mobile number correctly.and the nomination details.
all these doubts arise because they very new entrants and so the question of trust and reliability.had a million doubts when applying.but right now am happy trading with them though with small amount.NOW is just amazing interms of order execution.hit and look down the oder would have been executed within a fraction of second.that's when you feel it is reliable.
I didn't get any scanned copy from them but ilfs sends photocopy of one of the pages u signed(don't remember which page) along with the dp kit.
happy trade

Hi, Your concern is valid... Fill up all the basic details, but make sure you fill up the name the same way it appears on the PAN card and address the same way it appears on the address proof.. Also make sure you countersign if any corrections are made... We would be more than happy to receive filled forms, saves us time in filling it up.. The problem we had was with clients goofing up while writing and we having to send the couriers back to have it corrected...

Filling is pretty simple, just make sure you fill it up right..

Cheers...

hi shabsaif,
am using exe version.lot easier than the web based.till now there is no problem with now.good thing about now trading terminal is even if it gets disconnected because of internet problem, once the connection is established it automaically reconneced and all the orders are reconciled immeditely.am using odin from another low cost brokerage firm, but trust me it gets on to my nerves more than trading misjudements.in a day would have to login 5 or 6 times atleast and hanging is perennial.was of the opinion that 256kbps
bb is the reason but once started using 'now' also then could notice the diff.
drawbacks- not much to complain but when u take a trade view limits will not reflect the balance amount,so manually calculat balance to take another trade.
may be sachin from zerodha could clarify.would be lot of help.
happy trading

Re: new cheapest broker is here. Zerodha

NSE NOW and Anand Rathi's NEST Trader are the same. The products are from Omnesys. The only difference is NSE NOW connects directly to NSE Servers. I am using NEST Trader for last 1 year and the software is very very fast. I have tested it with IB, Religare and IIFL and they are no match for NEST Trader. I hope NOW must be much faster.

Dear gunavadhi,
thanks for brokerage calculator but in that brokerage calculator....brokerage is by default by Zerodha and we cann't change it. please give us a general brokerage calculator where we can count total tax and charges with different brokerage like with 1paisa or 2 or 3paisa.

Thanks& regards

I've tried using both the web and exe versions. So far, I've faced almost zero problems.
Certain features like fund transfer are available only on the web version, so one has to login into the web version to use that. One thing that I noticed is that if you login to the web version while using the exe version- for some reason like fund transfer- and logout of the web version once you're done, the exe version "appears to" function like normal. But when you try to place an order, it'll tell you that the user is not logged in. This means that you will have to logout of NOW, exit the application, open it again login again to place orders. It'd have been so much more convenient had the exe version warned the user "User not logged in, can not place orders" the moment it is logged out; for it is only during the heat of the moment while placing orders during an opportunity, that one realizes he is not logged into the NOW order placing system anymore.
Maybe such feedback can be passed on to the NOW team regarding this.

Suggestion for Zerodha:

Have a fillable form on your website, which shall walk the client through all the filling up of details; once complete pdf form could be downloaded.

In case of error, the potential client just has to visit your website, fill in the details and download pdf.

Some Banks, Mutual Funds and Online Insurance companies do it...So can you. Cheap and easy.

Regards,
