Now, listen to the interview of BSE's Ashishkumar Chauhan. BSE want to implement extending trading hour as early as possible from 1 OCT. :) Here, he is clearly indicating interest about 'Individual Stock F&O' too. So, maybe Stock F&O too(sooner or later more probability in next phase).

Hi, rivi,
Increasing trading hour is a different thing, some traders are Very Happy, some traders are Very Unhappy.

Don't mix up this with other pure bad things like F&O lot size increasing, margin increasing & STT.
And remember SEBI is planning worst thing ITR linking for getting maximum exposure.
We are already discussing such only bad things in below thread, you can shift the topic there. ;)

http://www.traderji.com/community/t...to-cut-retailers-participation-in-f-o.106175/
*****************
Trading time extension is against the move to cut retailers participation as it will increase the F&O participation indirectly. Also, the new set of (salaried)traders would come at night who can't participate in the day. But, SEBI was forced to give the permission as NSE & BSE both wanted that.
So better don't mix up things. Not all traders are unhappy with extending trading times but all are unhappy with rest of things u mentioned. :p

I said confidently it is a reality, although many trader fellows were in disbelieve.

The National Stock Exchange Ltd. has asked its clients to get ready for late-evening derivatives trading from October.

India’s largest exchange plans to start extended trading subject to approval from the regulator some time in October, it said in an email to clients. The bourse shared a “skeletal framework” for trading till 11.55 p.m.—nearly seven hours more than now.

According to the framework:
  • There shall be two trading sessions with a break of about 60-90 minutes.
  • The first session would be between 9:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
The First Session
The exchange would allow trading to continue from the previous day’s second (evening) session. That’s because it doesn’t want its members to settle trades in the night. Moreover, there would be thin trading on most days in the night, said a senior NSE official on condition of anonymity.
Trade modification will be allowed till 4:00 p.m. and all orders outstanding after 3:30 p.m. would be canceled, as is the case now. More details would follow in a separate circular, the exchange said.

The Second Session
It would extend from 5:00 p.m. to 11:55 p.m. The exchange would issue a separate circular to confirm the timings after getting approval from the regulator. The second session will start with fresh orders.
  • On the last day of the contract— the last Thursday of the month—next month’s contracts would be eligible to trade.
  • The exchange will allow trade modification till 11:55 p.m. All outstanding orders after that would be canceled.
  • The exchange will allow all trade records to continue in the next morning’s session.

The surprising thing is,
  • There shall be two trading sessions with a break of about 60-90 minutes.
It has some big advantage and disadvantages.

Advantages:- A break for refreshment is good. Now, we have two open and two closing session where most momentum generates. Bcoz of major news events and results inside that break session windows, we will see a major gap up and down in next session opening. Gap trading is a good strategy for pro traders but it will hurt positional traders more.
Bcoz of the break, session volatility will not drop which good for options traders.

Disadvantage:- It is also big. The main goal of extending market hour was investors can monitor their position constantly from various news event aftermarket.
Now, most of the companies will use this window to release their results. Also, most of the major Govt decision used to come inside that window(60 mins aftermarket). Also, major macroeconomic growth/inflation data usually release after market within next 60-90 mins.
