Quadra Safe Trading Strategy - I

Anant Sir ,

1) One more clarification about the stop Loss: Stop loss is SWING LOW for buy signal. So this swing low is based on previous 3 candles. Now these 3 candles are from Buy Trigger Candle (conditions possitive but we are waiting for HH close) or Actual Buy Candle?

2) How to set up exact stop loss value? Its exactly the swing low or we need to provide some filter (room); if some room, then how much? Better if it in some % form of CMP. Next option is nearest below support.

1) The initial stoploss is the swing low before the trigger candle. Trigger candle is excluded from the count. As you ride the trend, move the stoploss to next higher swing low in the direction of the trend.

2) the stoploss is set at a little lower than the swing low in case of Long trades and a little higher than the swing high in case of short trades. This "little" depends on the price. for price upto Rs.100 you can set it to about 10 or 20 paise as per your comfort. For higher values it also increases. There is no fixed amount.

SG has once mentioned that you can use WWMA(5), WWMA(8) and EMA(21) for intraday. If you can not use WWMA then use EMA(9), EMA(15) and EMA(21).

Crossover of WWMA(5) and WWMA(8) is trigger for BUY/SELL and EMA(21) is trend direction. Similarly, if you use EMA then cross-over of EMA(9) and EMA(15) is trigger and EMA(21) is direction.

Also, use 5min or preferably 15 min timeframe.

******************************

EMA(9),EMA(15) and EMA(21) can be used if you have the historical Intraday chart available for a longer period of say at least about a month. This is because EMA(15) on 15min timeframe requires nearly 4 hours to start. If you are using one day chart as given in NSE (the charts posted above by Rangarajan) then it is not possible to trade. So, use 5min timeframe only so that EMA(15) is available after 1-and-a-quarter hours on the chart. However, EMA(21) will still not be available and you have to work with only two EMAs and their cross-overs. This may sometimes lead to whipsaws and no good trade may materialise.

NSE does not give intraday chart for more than 1 day.

PS: SUDAR made 52-week high (171.55) today and still going strong.

For your Eyes only.
Relcap today for Intra trade as per Quadra. Made a High of 436.9

Anant,u r right as always.
But Mango can also trade in a small way w/o sophistication with what they have instead of getting dejected.

**************

For a little adventurous and a little bit smart mango, the correct shorting was triggered at 12:30 (instead of 12:50 as shown by you) when the red candle opened above all of the averages and closed below them. Short on the next candle open with stoploss of previous pivot high (433.50 made by the 12:15 candle). The exit was triggered by the Blue candle at 13:45 which opened below the averages and closed above them. Close the Short and also go Long on the next candle open (at 13:50). Ride the trend till sell triggered (which did not happen) or close position just before auto close by broker (usually 3:15 pm by most brokers).
