Anantji, a small question about Re-Entry: When we are already in long position and trailing SL by 3 candle swing method; there is a point when TSL is hit and we are out. Now we have squared off the position but the buy setup is still valid; so do we again enter immediately at the next candle?

What is the difference in rules for Fresh Buy & Re-Entry?

Why I am asking this question is that, in a steady uptrend, do we have to take TSL hit seriously when all other parameters are +ve?

Thanks in advance........

Krishna,

The replies are given below:

.... we have squared off the position but the buy setup is still valid; so do we again enter immediately at the next candle?

No, we don't enter on next candle. If the BUY conditions still hold, wait for the price to break above previous swing high.

What is the difference in rules for Fresh Buy & Re-Entry?

For Fresh Buy, we need a BUY Trigger. For Re-entry, we need the Buy conditions still holding. A fresh Buy comes only after a Sell Trigger and only once till a Sell is triggered again. A Re-entry comes after TSL Hit, and may come several times before a Sell is triggered, the only requirement is Buy conditions should prevail.

.... in a steady uptrend, do we have to take TSL hit seriously when all other parameters are +ve?

In a steady uptrend, if TSL is hit, either book partial profit or if there are indications that it is a temporary retracement, you can retain the position.

Anantji, few more questions, please tolerate::eek:

1. I have gone thru some of the posts by SG sir, where he has used QUADRA for intraday, such as early as 2nd or 3rd post where he has analysed SBIN with 1 min candle. Thus QUADRA can be used for intraday. Correct?

2. Further I read that for Intra, instead of EMA 50, EMA 21 is enough; am I understanding this right? So this means we look for EMA 9 & 15 crossover and see that EMA 21 is uptilt. OR EMA 9 >15 > 21 ? Which one of the two?

3. Sometimes when we apply Quadra; higher time frame gives buy signal but on lower TF, its not yet a buy. What should be done in this case? Follow higher TF and enter or wait for confirmation by lower TF.

4. Can please give some more insight about ADDs? Now when we have already entered, buy set is very much valid and its uptrend; where can we add? Should we look for previous pivot break or swing high break or sma21? Generally in steady uptrend candles are always closing above SMA 21, so this may always satisfy the criterion. I am asking this specifically with reference to intraday and positional as well.

5. With reference to your post #1710: In that chart, there are two parts: one is price chart where we see all the WWMAs plotted but what is the bottom chart? Is it MACD Histogram or something else? As I have TradeTiger with me, how to generate this second chart there? Any ways? Also, therein we see, that at the crossover there is AWS buy signal and Pure Quadra comes a couple days later.

6. In case of AWS, how we determine buy (closing price above which we have to buy), as the entry condition will be getting fulfilled at the completion of that pure quadra (same) candle. So is there some more risk, as if the candle turns out to be bearish, we have already entered. At the end of the day, its a bearish candle and pure quadra is yet to give buy trigger. Need more explanation, please.

1. I have gone thru some of the posts by SG sir, where he has used QUADRA for intraday, such as early as 2nd or 3rd post where he has analysed SBIN with 1 min candle. Thus QUADRA can be used for intraday. Correct?

Yes, Quadra can be used for intraday. But time frame should be ideally 15 min or higher. SG has mentioned this in one of his posts. For lower time frames the gain is much less as the range in lower time frames is also low.

2. Further I read that for Intra, instead of EMA 50, EMA 21 is enough; am I understanding this right? So this means we look for EMA 9 & 15 crossover and see that EMA 21 is uptilt. OR EMA 9 >15 > 21 ? Which one of the two?

For intraday, use EMA(21) instead of EMA(50) to determine the tilt and EMA(9) and EMA(15) for cross-over.

3. Sometimes when we apply Quadra; higher time frame gives buy signal but on lower TF, its not yet a buy. What should be done in this case? Follow higher TF and enter or wait for confirmation by lower TF.

Use only one time frame. Don't compare with another time frame

For ADD, wait for some good retracement and then break above previous pivot high.

The Bottom plot in the form of a Histogram is the Quadra AWS. The Top one is the standard Quadra as described by SG. In most trade terminals, you will not be able to generate the Quadra AWS as they do not allow plotting charts generated by programming. The Quadra AWS is result of a program (AFL).

As Quadra AWS gives the signal a little earlier than Standard Quadra, it is named QUADRA AWS (Quadra Advance Warning System). But all triggers of AWS are not valid. We have to validate the triggers by inspecting the price chart.

In case of EOD, if you want to enter on the trigger candle itself before it is complete, you have to wait almost upto the day's end, a few minutes before market close. At that time you will be able to judge where the price is going to end. Then, take the trade if you feel that it is going to be a Green candle at the end. You have to place order almost at Market price. In case of intra day, you have to judge the close of the current candle and enter about 15-20 seconds before the candle is complete, the time frame being at least 5 minutes. I have not tested AWS on intraday, therefore, some study is required.
