Now Software Error

The following error came "NOW initialization failed for Interactive Engine: << os error >>"...
what should I do ? This is still not working. I have vista SP2 fully updated. TIA

It could be Internet problem. please check if you Internet is working when you try this.

It would be because of blocked ports 56006/56005.

Run a Process Monitor tool and find out the blocked port.

For those who are facing issues with NOW/NEST. and getting error message of OS initialization failed can try this.

1. close nest/now and power switch off your router without rebooting your PC.
2. start your router again and start NEST/NOW.

- this is a glitch in software itself it happens with those who have dynamic IP only.

To resolve this error, you need to give 'Administrator Rights" on Now.exe to run the same. Here are the steps to do so.

Steps to resolve the problem
Right click on 'Launcher Now' from your desktop
Click on 'Open File location'
A folder will open where in you need to select 'Now.exe'
Right click on 'Now.exe' and click on properties
Select 'Compatibility' Tab
Select 'Change settings for all users'
Check 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:'
Check 'Run this program as an administrator'
Click 'OK'
Click 'Apply' and 'OK'

Conclusion
You should be able to run NOW.exe after following the above procedure
