Karthik's EOD Strategy...

I have posted chart of SBIN. I have marked the EMA cross over and ADX crossover and the conditions of the rule.

1). The 3EMA crossed over 10EMA on 11.04.12 but ADX condition not met
2). The 3EMA still > 10EMA on 12.04.12 and this time ADX condition was met as +DI > -DI and the condition of BUY met
3). The buy order placed @ 2234.00 with SL of 2177
4). 13.04.12 the buy order executed.
5). 18.04.12 the price didnt touch 3EMA which means we have to exit from our position at the close price which is 2276.00
6). The exit order (sell order in this case) placed at 2276.00 and trigerred

The profit on this trade is Rs.42.00 (excluding brokerage/comm)

Please check the chart attached by me for SBIN is given buy call 11-04-12 itself. And 18-04-12 candle has touched with 3 EMA as well. Is there anything wrong i hav ploted the chart.?

Hi Karthik,
I guess you have to update your rules to correct this typo ( adding are not to your original post)

BTW, I am trying to write the AFL for this strategy for ease of use. Let me see how much I can progress. I am learning to code strategies. Pl. let me know if you have already done it.

I have not done any AFL as i dont know writing AFL

Please check the Low price of 18.04.12 as it is 2275.25

I am using Chartnexus EOD charts and now you can see the low price is same as you mentioned. But 18-04-2012 price touched the 3 ema candle as per chart. please check

Let me check with the exchange data bro...i have posted this based on the EOD data received from the data broker...the possibility could be in the EMA strip where the price in the preceeding days are not matching with the exchange data...will chk and post the revised chart taken from exchange. Thanks for pointing out!

Hello Sivaskv, for attaching charts, please use an external website like imgur.com or tinypic.com; and post the link here. Using "Manage attachments" option, you will run out of attachment space very soon.

If you are selling (Shorting) then what is the Exit strategy? Is it Price not touching EMA(10)?
