Todays movie is about a young British journalist, George Hogg, who with the assistance of a courageous Australian nurse, saves a group of orphaned children during the Japanese occupation of China in 1937. The movie won the award "Young Artist Awards 2009" beside other awards. The movie is feeling touching, at least to me.
Hope all of you had a nice and again successful week. This weekends movie is about a crime which happens in England around 1964. A vivid drama that documents the notorious "Moors murderers", named Ian Brady and Myra Hindley. The movie was made in 2006.
The following movie is about the art of living in harmony with nature. Some incredible landscape pictures are seen in the movie. The story: A trapper and his wife brave the harsh Yukon climate, treacherous landscape and dangerous wildlife in an attempt to live a life of solitude.
What about some history from Spain? Christopher Columbus' discovery of the Americas and the effect this has on the indigenous people. This is an adventure movie from 1992 with the great Gérard Depardieu.
Some of you may heard about Buster Keaton and I guess rarely non did ever see a full movie from him, as his time in the movie business was during the Silent film era The story about todays film I found in the net: When Union spies steal an engineer's beloved locomotive, he pursues it single-handedly and straight through enemy lines. The movie is a very high rated one, regardless if it is from 1927. Quit funny sessions are shown and the movie is also a winner of the "National Film Preservation Board, USA" in 1989.
So far I did not post any movie about the Italian Mafia. Todays movie is about this topic. John Joseph Gotti, Jr or better known as "John Gotti", the head of a small New York mafia crew breaks a few of the old family rules. He rises to become the head of the Gambino Crime Family and the most well-known mafia boss in America.
One of my ever favorite actor is Anthony Quinn, which you already have met/seen in the above movie. Now here an other master piece with him which even won the Golden Globes in the USA. The story: During WWII in Italy, a wine producing village hide a million bottles from the Germans.
By the way: I am clear it is old movie. Still, the rating is high, like for many other older movies. But finding today new, especially absolute new English Spoken movies in You Tube is more or less absolute impossible. I guess you know this by your self. So I will post what ever I find with a good rating level from what ever time.
