How come sensex opens 172 above previous close

Check out the ET on the 18th Nov. It distinctly shows Infy's high as 2401.

My apologies ... I thought the post was about yesterday's trades

But what about Reliance Inds strange move on BSE yday (like I just narrated above) ?

There's nothing much one can do about it. The index changes only for a few seconds, and no one cares about Technical Analysts, and the havoc these things wreak on the data. The investors (small or big) are not hurt by this, so why bother??

Nope...this has been on daily in many stocks, the only reason i guess is to mess the charts...what other benefit is there i cant imagine... daily severals scripts have these freak trades & on numerous occasions cover gaps much much far away... this is ridiculous.

Very true, this goes on everyday on a number of stocks with the intention to mislead.

How do you think the articles appear in papers?? Do you think the journalists have knowledge of financial markets?? They depend on financial market professionals to come up with ideas... thats why you find lots of articles with hidden agendas in the financial press.
