Need help with Gannalyst

Hi I am a newbie to share market & I have never used charting software. I downloaded Gannalyst & tried using it. But I am not able to import data into it. I may sound foolish but, I have a doubt regarding the scrip code. The software says the ticker data is not necessary. Then how come it prepares the chart without a scrip code? I am really stuck in that. I have the bhavcopy from BSE form 01/01/2009 to till date. Also I want to know how to set the date as the .csv file doesn't have a date field in it, though it reflects the date in the file name.

A step-by-step procedure with a little explanation regarding the software will be of immense help to me. Can anybody please help me in this regard.
