Assets fluctuations are driven by forces of supply and demand which can be broken down into factors which change in response to changes in economic outlook (which affect interest rate and risk, i.e. uncertainty), monetary, fiscal policy, relative attractiveness of one asset class compared to others (bond vs. stocks), etc. This is relevant for currencies too, but their supply and demand often involve more factors compared to stocks or bonds.
