Some time back I had written about the internet provider Hathway. In brief it was (1) continuous disruption (2) customer service was not even 24/7 as against promised 24x7 (3) suspending the service inspite of renewing it much in advance on both the occasions.
On last occasion, I received the intimation on 4th Dec. 06 to renew the connection which was due to expire on 10.12.06. I paid the amt. on 4th Dec., 06, the cheque was debited from my account on 7th Dec. 06. Between 4th & 7th, some one called me to remind about the renewal when I confirmed him that I had already paid the amount. Between 7th and 10th, the same person once again called me to know the status. I re-confirmed to the said person that the amt. was not only paid but the cheque was cleared on 7th. To my surprise, I found that the line was suspended on 10th Dec. When I tried to contact them between 1900 and 1930 hrs on Sunday, the 10th Dec.06 , not a single soul attended the calls. Only, auto-machine was answering, wasting my time and money. Lastly, some one appeared, apparently cursing me for spoiling his Sunday Mood, only to confirm my fear that the connection was suspended for want of renewal as had happened even on previous occasion. I made several complaints including complaint to Nodal Officer but not a single soul answered to my complaints.
Since I had already subscribed upto 10th June 07, I continued to use the net. On 29th June, I submitted written request to disconnect the line and refund my deposit. I repeatedly requested them to refund my money. It is over 2 months. There is no acknowledgement even.
Now what is the alternative?. I hv no time to go to consumer court to teach to such irresponsible service providers. Friends, only thing we can do is to educate others about such service providers and look for alternatives. Please make note of my tension and learn and teach other friends to beware!
